Five Qualities Of Healthy Couples
Seven Promises Of A Promise Keeper
by Gary Smalley

  1. Healthy couples have a clearly defined menu of expectations. When a family agrees on a menu of options for quality life and relationships, they'll enjoy a healthy, successful family.

  2. Healthy couples understand and practice meaningful communication. Within marital and family communication, it's important to remember that you're trying to move toward the deepest level of intimacy.

  3. Healthy couples are associated widt a small, healthy support group. Meet regularly with three or four other couples who have the same commitment to God and their marriages that you have.

  4. Healthy couples are aware of unhealthy or offensive behavior stemming from their heritage. The Bible says that the sins of a father are visited on me children up to four generations. I must realize that what I'm doing to my wife and children today could be direcdy related to my great grandfather.

  5. Healthy couples have a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. When Jesus permeates our relationship as a family we experience a calm and quiet spirit -- we also know that He is our source of life.
